10.31.2011: Balance of the shows with Paul DiAnno in the ‘Running Free Again Brazilian Tour 2011’
In 2011, Scelerata played it’s 3rd Brazilian Tour as Paul DiAnno’s (ex-Iron Maiden) support and backing band. Adding the two previous years, we played a total amount of 40 shows through Brazil, passing by all the 5 regions of this vast country.
This year, unlike 2010, we explored more the countryside, which proved to be a good strategy along the tour, because in these cities we usually had sold out shows, and very crazy crowds!
The tour began in the south of Brazil, in Porto Alegre, Caxias do Sul and Torres. All shows were great! It’s always a different feeling to play in your home town, and this year we started by ours: Porto Alegre. The presence of friends is always a special motivation, and this time it wasn’t different. We had a great start, no doubt about that. But I’d like to highlight the show of Caxias do Sul. Starting with the venue, called All Need Master Hall. Great place, big stage, and above all, amazing crowd. We had near 1.000 metalheads, with everyone singing along, screaming and shouting. I recall this kid in the front row crying while we played Wrathchild. Got the goose bumps! In Torres also we had a nice venue, with a big stage. It was the first time we played in this part of our state, Rio Grande do Sul, and it couldn’t have been better.
A couple of days later we had a long journey to Goiania, to play again at the great Bolshoi Pub. Great venue, although with a small stage. We recieved a very nice treatment, and had a great gig with no problems at all. The next night we were playing in the countryside of São Paulo state, in a city called Presidente Prudente, which is quite big actually. It was a very long and stressful journey, and we had some trouble with the equipment. Due to that, the show had a short delay, but I’d like to mention the fine way the local promoter and our crew managed this situation. We played in a basketball court, and had one of the greatest crowds of the whole tour, with people singing along and enjoying since the first note of Scelerata’s show.
The next stop was this small, but welcoming, town called Itapira. The show was in the town’s club, called Centrão, a very big venue, to a crowd of over 1.000 people. The heat on stage was almost unbearable, however the energy from the crowd was above all expectations. It really was a remarkable show. Important to say that Deep Purple played this same night in a nearby town, and even so, we had a sold out show. This was definately one of the best shows of the tour, along with Presidente Prudente and Caxias do Sul.
Next morning we traveled to São Paulo, one of the biggest cities in the world. It would be our first time playing in this venue, called Beco 203, a very nice place. We had a great show, with the presence of a lot of friends and a very fun get-together after the show.
Two nights after that we played in a city called Santo André. This was by far the hardest show we had to play on the tour. The venue is not used to having shows as big as Paul DiAnno’s, and it’s definately not prepared to do so. We had serious problems with the electrical power during the show, and were almost forced to finish in the middle. But, like was once said, the show must go on, and we managed a way to play the whole thing. We even played two instrumental songs with no electrical power! Yes... believe it or not! But, problems aside, the balance was positive.
And two nights after that, we played in Piracicaba. The show was in a very nice pub, was an excited crowd. The next night was in Jundiaí, where we had a small crowd, but a very loud and excited one. It was a great night.
We ended the tour in João Pessoa, a city in the North-east of Brazil, playing a very special event called Iron Maiden Day. Not only Paul DiAnno played, but also a very respected Brazilian Iron Maiden Cover band called Children of the Beast. Also we had other bands, like Shock, Sodoma and Big Five. This event happened in a huge Gimnasium, for a crazy crowd of 3.000 people, a great way to finish the ‘Running Free Again Brazilian Tour’. After the show we had the chance to meet the guys from the band Shock, one of the oldest metal bands from Brazil. It’s formed by three brothers, and they surely are great guys.
I’d like to thank everyone involved in putting this amazing tour together, with the legendary Paul DiAnno and Scelerata. Big thanx to all the local promoters and their crews for their hard work and for giving us a great treatment, and everyone who worked along in one way or another. A special thanx to Ricardo Finocchiaro from Abstratti Productions, who is the tour manager for the past 3 DiAnno/Scelerata Brazilian tours. And, of course, a ‘very-big-special’ thanx to the one and only Paul DiAnno, for his friendship, simplicity and for giving us the chance to enjoy from the stage his amazing talent/gift of singing and entertaining. You are definately THE BEAST! And, last but not least, to our restless and very competent crew: Bruno Lorenzen, Victor Petrosky and Carlos Loureiro.

05.02.2011: Lost in the Twilight Hall Studios - Report 1
We've been in the Twilight Hall Studios, Germany, for the past days, working in Charlie Bauerfeind’s - producer for the album - pace. The way he works is to exhaust all the forces from the drummer, playing around 4 hours a day, extracting the maximum power and accuracy to achieve the desired result, as opposed to the way I’ve always recorded so far, that was to record 3 or 4 songs per day in long recording sessions. No wonder that the sound of drums of his works always sounds spectacular, and you can really feel the drummer giving his maximum interpretation to the songs.
Speaking of sound of drums, I never had a sound like this. It’s actually surprising everyone in a positive way, even Charlie! We are recording with Dani Loeble’s (Helloween's drummer) kit, a brand new Yahama Birch Custom Absolute, which had never been played in a recording room before. The microphones are Earthworks, a North-American brand that guys like Neil Peart, for example, uses. The cymbals, all Paiste, belong to the studio, except for 3 or 4, which also belong to Dani.
The Twilight Hall Studios obviously revolves around Blind Guardian. Banners, photos, posters, t-shirts, mugs, etc all from the ‘Guardian’. Here runs not only the studio, but also the band's office accounting, inventory, merchandising and warehouse equipment. It is quite large, very organized and professional, completely consistent with the size of Blind Guardian.
We're really happy with the results we’ve obtained so far! Charlie is an outstanding guy, always in a good mood, but at the same time absolutely committed to the work, which makes us understand why he is required by the major metal bands from Europe!

03.08.2011: New website and demo of a brand new song
Scelerata just released a demo of the song "Rising Sun " that will be part of new album, with this expected to launch in the second half of 2011.
"After the Brazilian tour 2010 with Paul DiAnno, Scelerata significantly increased its audience. Many people from different parts of the country are contacting us, listening to our work and sending messages. Everyone is wondering how the band's activities and recording sessions are doing. This demo is part of the pre-production for the new album, and we think it is a good way tp people have a small sample of how this new work is sounding", says vocalist Fabio Juan.
